Dutch Reformed Church fights same-sex unions in court

JOHANNESBURG – The Dutch Reformed Church insists a decision to reverse its approval of same-sex unions is unconstitutional. 

Eleven members have taken the church to court.

In 2015, the church made a landmark decision, giving its blessing to same-sex unions but a year later the church backtracked, saying these relationships don’t meet Christian guidelines.
