Hazard plea

Mario Melchiot is desperate for Chelsea to keep Eden Hazard away from Real Madrid.

“I love him man,” Melchiot told talkSPORT.

“Just as a kid, just as a person I like him as well.

“I spoke to him personally and I liked him from the moment we met.

“But just as a player, he changes games, he has everything as to why you buy a ticket to go and watch the team.

“That’s why I think if he leaves Chelsea he would be one of the biggest losses and they will regret it.

“So that’s why I think they shouldn’t make it that easy for him to go.”

Jurgen Klopp eyes Premier League duo

Liverpool have their sights set on two Premier League defenders, according to reports.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking for a new centre-back to partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of Liverpool’s defence.

‘No idea’

Jurgen Klopp insist he’s got “no idea” whether the recent reports about midfielder Emre Can are true.

Can is out of contract at the end of next month and has been linked with a move to Juventus.

The club’s CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, further fuelled rumours when hinting that he’s confident the German midfielder will sign a five-year contract in Turin.

Speaking with Mediaset Premium, he said: ”Emre Can? I am very optimistic. You can read my smile…”

Asked about the player’s future during today’s Champions League final press conference, Klopp said: “I have absolutely no idea.”

Jose Mourinho wants Toby Alderweireld

Manchester United are interested in signing Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, reports claim.

Jose Mourinho wants to revamp his defensive options ahead of the next Premier League campaign, and views the Belgium international as the ideal candidate.

The Guardian report that Alderweireld has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave for £22million next summer providing he triggers the option to extend his contract beyond June 2020.

The report speculates that that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could demand a fee in excess of the world-record £75m that Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk.

Slavisa Jokanovic to Chelsea

A new name has entered the list of candidates to succeed Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Evening Standard claim Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is now in the running after masterminding the club to back-to-back play-offs.

Ronaldo wants Dybala signing

Cristiano Ronaldo has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, according to reports in Spain.

Don Balon, who often publish outlandish transfer stories, are claiming that Ronaldo has given Dybala his seal of approval.

It’s said that Ronaldo has chosen Dybala, 24, because he believes the signing will provoke Lionel Messi and make the Barcelona superstar extremely nervous to see the ‘Argentine figure of the future’ competing in La Liga.

Real Madrid think they could land the Juve attacker for £87million – a fee the Bernabeu hierarchy believes would represent a bargain.

The La Liga champions have reportedly made Griezmann their number one target this summer, and Messi’s stamp of approval will go a long way.

Asked about the Atletico Madrid forward, Messi told Spanish media RAC1: “It’s obvious that I like him. He is one of the best right now. I don’t know if there is something with him or not, but we are delighted that the best come [to Barca] and Griezmann is one of them.”

According to Sky Sports, the Brazil international wants to leave Stamford Bridge if Antonio Conte remains in charge next season.

The news comes a few days after Willian posted a photo on his Instagram Story in which Blues manager Antonio Conte was obscured.

Willian started only 20 Premier League matches for Chelsea in the 2017-18 season, featuring as a substitute on a further 16 occasions.

“He’s a big man. This is one of the first people I spoke to before buying the club, and he told me one thing that I never forgot: ‘You buy a diamond and it will be cut and shined’.

“I do not know what he will do, but he will have a lot offers. Today, the sports director [of PSG] is Antero Henrique and he will stay.”

Nabil Fekir talks

Liverpool will initiate talks to sign Lyon star Nabil Fekir after Saturday’s Champions League final, French reports claim.

The 3-2 win over Nice, a victory that secured Champions League qualification, looks set to be Fekir’s last match for Lyon with the playmaker heavily linked with a summer move to Anfield.

Lyon boss Bruno Genesio appears to have resigned himself to losing Fekir and paid tribute to the France international.

Experienced signings required – Nemanja Matic

Manchester United must sign players with experience if they want to challenge for silverware next season, according to Nemanja Matic.

United, who finished a distant second in the league behind local rivals Manchester City, missed the opportunity to end the season with a trophy after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

“I think we need some players with some experience to bring some more qualities to our team,” Matic explained.

“After that, we can fight for the title and the Champions League also. I think that we have improved. As you know, United last year were sixth. The year before that, fifth.”

Paul Pogba reveals PSG interest

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he would be open to joining Paris St-Germain at some point in his career.

The Red Devils invested a then world record £89million when they re-signed the France midfielder in 2016.

Poor form and an apparently strained relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has raised doubts over his Old Trafford future with PSG eyeing his services.

But despite announcing his interest in joining the Ligue 1 champions in the future, Pogba insists he will remain at Manchester United this summer.

Shortly after being pictured taking part in a photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower, Pogba told Canal+: “My presence at the Eiffel Tower has nothing to do with PSG.

“Why not one day tread the lawn of the Parc des Princes? It’s a beautiful stadium. I cannot look far. I’m sure, contractually, to stay at Manchester United.”

Last week, reports suggested AC Milan had formally entered the bidding process for the Belgium international.

And the club’s sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has suggested a deal could be on the cards.

“Fellaini? He could be an important player. In fact, he is an important player,” said Mirabelli.

“We know that he is not renewing his contract with Manchester United, but it is difficult to say if we have closed it.

“He has important parameters. We will do something in that role, but with maximum discretion. We will close a deal first before we announce a player.”

Mikel Arteta to Arsenal: Announcement expected…

Mikel Arteta is expected to be announced as Arsenal’s new boss this week.

Arsenal have been searching for a replacement for Arsene Wenger, who left at the end of the season after almost 22 years in charge of the club.

And now according to the Daily Mirror, Arteta is expected to take over the reins at the Emirates.

A deal in principle has been agreed between Arsenal and Manchester City, the report adds, and an announcement is expected soon.

The Mirror also claim that news of Arteta’s impending appointment coincides with Jack Wilshere, who looks set to sign a new three-year deal with a further 12-month option.

Neymar staying put – Thomas Tuchel

Neymar is an “artist” and PSG need to build their team around the 26-year-old if they are to get the best out of him, new manager Thomas Tuchel has said.

Neymar joined the French champions from Barcelona for a record £200million last August but reports have already linked him with a move to Real Madrid or Manchester United.

“I met Neymar last Sunday. It was an important meeting. He’s an artist, one of the best players in the world, a key player to help us win our matches,” said Tuchel, who last week signed a two-year deal to replace Unai Emery.

“If we find a way to build a structure around him, so he can show all his talent on the pitch, I think we have a key player to win our games.”

Eden Hazard to Manchester City

Manchester City are reportedly planning a huge summer deal for Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

While not requiring major surgery, Pep Guardiola wants to add a world-class addition or two to scale new heights next season.

The Daily Star claim Guardiola is plotting a £100million move and he’s confident of convincing him to swap Stamford Bridge for the Etihad.

It’s said that Hazard is seen as a long-term successor to David Silva.
